Reverend Robert D. Scaife is a lifelong member of Union Missionary Baptist Church where his father, the late Reverend Leo Scaife, Sr. was the Assistant Pastor (until his death in January 1997) and his mother, Mattie Scaife, served faithfully (until her death in June of 2014). Reverend Rob is the youngest of 18 children born to Reverend Leo and Mattie Scaife.
Reverend Robert D. Scaife was licensed to preach the Gospel of Christ in October 1995 and then ordained June of 2005, under his mentor, teacher and Father in the Ministry, Pastor W. J. Jackson, Sr.

Under Pastor Jackson’s leadership, Reverend Scaife served as leader of the Men’s Ministry and gave leadership to the Minister’s Classes (with a special focus on sermon preparation and leadership).
On May 16th, 2015 Reverend Scaife was voted Assistant Pastor of Union, an assignment allowing him to go further in his committed service to his Pastor and church.
In September 2015, Pastor Jackson retired and became Pastor Emeritus of Union. On March 19, 2016 Reverend Robert D. Scaife, called by God, was voted to lead God’s people as the Pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Pastor Rob also served our community as a Detective with the City of Muncie Police Department (Until June 10, 2016 when he resigned to focus on ministry at Union) and led the taskforce that focuses on gang activity.
As a result of his servant leadership and excellent character, Pastor Rob was awarded the Herman Freed Integrity, Loyalty, Ethics and Attitude Award in 2005, Investigator of the Year Award in 2010, Muncie Black Expo President’s Award for Community Service in 2014, and the “Champions for Kids – Civic Volunteer” Award from Prevent Child Abuse, with his wife, in April 2015. Pastor Rob studied at Florida College, Ball State University, Indiana Wesleyan University.
Pastor Rob (now, affectionately called) has been married to Minister Wilisha Scaife since June 25, 1994 and they have 3 children, Jauwan, Jayla and Jasiah. His family is his most important ministry and his commitment to them is second only to his personal commitment to Christ.
Through this intense process of seeking God, and His will, Pastor Rob has leaned heavily on Joshua 1:9. The song that has given him much strength and focus is a song by ‘Men of Standard’ that says, “Lord, I’m staying in Your Will.”
